SHAH ALAM - Former Bachok MP Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz says his recent meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did not alter his political stance, adding that the purpose of the meeting was solely to maintain the longstanding relationship between his late father and Anwar.

He said continuing the relationship of his father's friends is a practice inspired by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad which includes maintaining connections with their friends and families.

"The act of showing kindness and maintaining relationships should be valued and continued without being severed. This is in accordance with the Sunnah,” he said in a Facebook post, today.

Nik Abduh commented that despite significant differences in their political understandings, the shared similarities between both figures prevented prolonged disputes.

"I share a similar perspective. While differences remain, it is the shared similarities that bring us closer. I am committed to following in my father's path, guided by the belief that Islam is the solution," he added.
