Mothers must set good examples as children mirror their actions
A child is like a blank canvas, which gets painted with the values of the parents.
Mothers play a significant role in educating their kids in many ways.
Talking about setting a good example, Malaysian actress Norish Karman said 'displaying' is stronger than telling them what to do.
"As a mother, you have to do it only then you can advise your kids because you have gone through it.
"You could always say 'It works for me, why don't you try it too' and that's how it works," she said during Sinar Daily's Relatable programme entitled 'Challenges of Motherhood'.
Sakinah also encouraged mothers to create a positive connection with kids, instead of criticising them.
"Most of the time, I use discussion techniques.
"We have discussions among each other on any issues, and solve the problem immediately with apologies," she said.
