KUANTAN – PAS urges Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to publicly apologise on issues related to slander and fraud allegedly hurled at Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Pas Information Head Ir Khairil Nizam Khirudin said this following the answer given by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said in a written question by Pasir Mas Member of Parliament Ahmad Fadhli Shaari about the party's allegations that PN received gambling funds during the last election campaign.

Khairil said in the answer given, the minister involved explained that after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) conducted an investigation and found that the allegations made were general and no party could confirm the allegations involved.

"The allegations were originally made by PMX after a few weeks helming the government.

"We call on PMX to publicly apologise for the slander and fraud thrown at PN," he said in a statement on Friday.

In the answer, Azalina said that no investigation file had been opened regarding the issue involved.

In December, the Prime Minister said that the election funds for the 'Malay' party and the 'Islamic' party came from gambling companies.
