SHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today expresses his willingness to cooperate with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Muhyiddin welcomed Mahathir's readiness to cooperate with him for the sake of protecting the fate of Malays and Muslims.

"I welcome Dr Mahathir's statement on his willingness to cooperate with me for the sake of the Malays and Muslims.

"I realise the recent political developments placed Malays and Muslims in a crossroad," he said in a Facebook post on Friday.

Muhyiddin in his post stated as a Muslim, he was prepared to cooperate with any Malay and Muslim figures for the sake of defending religion, race and the nation.

Yesterday, Dr Mahathir expressed his willingness to cooperate with Muhyiddin which brought the possibility of both former prime ministers sitting together at the same table to reconcile their three-year-long feud.

The possibility of the two former premiers’ cooperation sparked debates among political figures in the country.

Pas vice president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah expressed his uncertainty about the nature of the cooperation mentioned by Mahathir and emphasised the need to follow established protocols and discussions among PN leaders.
