KUALA LUMPUR - The willingness of two former prime ministers, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, to forge cooperation once again is seen as a good move that could give Perikatan Nasional the strength it needs.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Information Chief Datuk Razali Idris said at the moment Bersatu has signed the Malay Proclamation, which indicates cooperation with Dr Mahathir.

"However, other forms of cooperation besides the signing of the proclamation have not been discussed with other coalition parties' leaders.

"The top leadership has yet to inform of any cooperation between Dr Mahathir and Muhyiddin. This is a new story, and the leadership council has not had a meeting yet.

"Muhyiddin said on Facebook previously that he is ready to work with Dr Mahathir, and we have accepted and received well this cooperation with Tun.

"This is a good move for the state election if Dr Mahathir states openly that he supports PN.

"We also welcome it if Dr Mahathir wants to deliver 'ceramah' during the state election campaigns with the candidates," he said at the PN headquarters on Monday.

Meanwhile, there were no developments on whether former Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin had met with Muhyiddin on his offer of a 'high post' in the Bersatu supreme leadership council.
