Ismail Sabri appointed as World UAV Federation honorary president

KUALA LUMPUR - Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has been appointed as the World UAV Federation (WUAVF) honorary president.
WUAVF president Jincai Yang had handed over the certificate of appointment at the 7th Drone World Congress in Shezen, China, last Saturday.
On a post on Facebook,Ismail thanked WUAVF for trusting him to promote the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry to the world.
"The drone industry is growing rapidly. For example, the main manufacturers of drones are doing their best to produce large quantities of unmanned vehicles to help in daily tasks.
"This technology must be mastered immediately. In the past, drones were used by the military, but today it has become a technology used in all fields, whether on land, under water or in the air," he said.
He added that he would help the organisation to promote the industry for the sake world peace.
He noted that when he was leading the government, he had given special attention to the drone industry, to be applied in daily life and to become a new source of income for the country.
In fact, he had launched the Malaysian Drone Technology Action Plan 2022-2030 (MDTAP30) as a national agenda to support the drone ecosystem.
