Wanita Umno honours Bernama chairman Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi

KUALA LUMPUR - Wanita Umno honours Bernama chairman Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi for her struggle in championing differently-abled people (OKU) globally.

The 'Anugerah Skuad Sayang 3K' was presented by Wanita Umno chief Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad.

"Wanita Umno, records a heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for all the sacrifices and services that have been given.

"Bernama chairman has contributed a lot of services in Umno," she said after presenting the award at Menara Dato' Onn here today.

Ras Adiba expressed her utmost gratitude to the Wanita Umno team for honouring her with such award.

"It's an honour to receive such award, I am very elated with some of the stuffs I've been doing with the OKU Sentral association

"I am very thankful to all the ladies here for nominating me," she said.

Ras Adiba further said that this is her first time receiving an award by a political party.

"This is my first time receiving an award by a political party and I am very suprised," she expressed.

Nurul Iman Welfare Society for the Children of People Living With AIDS Founder Norlina Alawi and Nur Sharmila Shaheen were among the activists honoured by Wanita Umno.

Squad Kasih Sayang is a non-govermental organisation (NGO) under Wanita Umno which carries out charitable work and programmes

"We will still serve in politics but every year we will also gather to appreciate and honour deserving volunteers," Noranini added.
