RIYADH, Saudi - The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has issued a royal decree to sponsor and host 1,000 Palestinian Haj pilgrims, including families of martyrs, prisoners, and the injured, to perform the Haj this year (1444 Hijri).

This initiative is part of the annual ‘Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ programme, which is being implemented and overseen by the Saudi Arabian Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Ministry.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh expressed his gratitude to the King and Crown Prince for their continuous support in facilitating the families of martyrs and the injured in Palestine to perform the Haj pilgrimage.

"The ongoing generosity towards Palestinian Haj pilgrims sponsored by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques each year is a testament to the strength of the relationship between the two countries and His Majesty's appreciation for the great sacrifices made by the Palestinian people," he said.

The ‘Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ programme encompasses all aspects of performing the Haj pilgrimage. This includes visiting the Prophet's Mosque and historical sites, organising cultural and educational meetings, as well as facilitating meetings between the imams of the Two Holy Mosques and the guests. - BERNAMA-SPA
