KUALA TERENGGANU - The Umno University Student Club (UmnoSiswa) has issued a statement clarifying that the viral footage of a concert held in a university hall on June 10 only captured certain segments of the entire event.

UmnoSiswa stresssed that the video circulating on social media does not provide an accurate representation of the overall programme.

"After thoroughly reviewing the live broadcast on Youtube, we realised that it did not align with the descriptions provided by netizens.

"The event proceeded smoothly, in an orderly fashion, and in full compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) established by the university," the statement read.

According to UmnoSiswa, the viral video only captured a small portion of the programme, specifically the concluding moments.

"At that particular time, only a few students were involved in creating a lively atmosphere.

"Unfortunately, this isolated footage from the final minute of the live broadcast was circulated with the intention of tarnishing the university's image on social media platforms.

"Therefore, we urge the individual who shared the video (SiswaPas) with such motives to come forward and submit a formal appeal to the university," the club stated.

UmnoSiswa also appealed to all parties not to politicise the issue and refrain from speculating without verifying the facts.

"Reporting can take various forms, including public, official, or internal channels.

"If politics enters the picture and ends up damaging the reputation of other parties, it will inevitably disrupt public harmony," the club added.

Yesterday, a 37-second video depicting a concert allegedly held in a Terengganu university hall went viral on Facebook.

Based on the footage, both male and female students were seen dancing while watching a performance by a group on stage.
