SHAH ALAM - Actor and PKR member Datuk Hans Isaac officially expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt instagram post today after being appointed as the Malaysia Stadiums Board chairman.

Hans posted a picture of himself alongside Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh and captioned the image with, "The role given to me is not only merely a post, but comes with a great responsibility that needs to executed in best manner."

Hans was appointed to the position earlier this month, and is among the 16 appointments made to the board, which also includes individuals from the corporate, sports and government sectors.

“This honor is special for YAB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, my Prime Minister of Malaysia (PMX) and YB Hannah Yeoh Minister of Youth and Sports for trusting me to take on the responsibility as chairman while ensuring that the management of the Malaysia Stadiums Board remains professional and systematically administered to be more excellent,” he wrote in his caption.

The comment section was filled with best wishes and congratulatory messages for Hans for being appointed as the chairman.

In a recent news report, Hans said he was chosen for the role for his experience in handling entertainment events, including event venue management.

"Among my job scope is to handle MSC's board of directors and to ensure that the corporation follows the ministry's direction.

"However, all decisions would not just come from me alone, but I will also need to get consensus from the other 14 board members," he had said in the report.

Hans was previously the chairman of the National Film Development Corporation (Finas) from 2019 to 2020.

He had narrowly lost the contest for the Ampang PKR chief post last year to Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, better known as rapper Altimet.

The 51-year-old began acting in 1995 and was featured in numerous local movies and TV series until he announced his retirement from show business in 2021, he had joined PKR in 2020.
