SERDANG - A Bangladeshi woman was found dead in an apartment at Seri Kembangan here on Thursday.

Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner A Anabalagan said he was informed of the incident after receiving a call at 3.06pm.

He said early investigations found the 34-year-old victim in a state of depression while attending a dinner party with her friend.

“Her friend informed the victim had lost her mother and only had her father and husband back home.

“The victim was said to be unhappy returning home due to personal and family matters,” he said in a statement on Friday.

He said the victim who recently finished her doctorate (PHD) in business was discovered by the apartment manager after being told that she could not be contacted before informing the police.

“Investigations to find the cause of death and motive of the incident are ongoing.

“The victim’s body was brought to the Serdang Hospital for an autopsy,” he said.
