Suppliers, traders join forces to make Rahmah Sales Programme a success

KOTA BHARU - Suppliers and traders have joined forces to make the Rahmah Sales Programme in the state a success.

Grocery supplier Mohd Hasrul Mohamad, 40, said to make it easier for customers, especially villagers, traders bring sales items to the location where the Rahmah Sales Programme being held.

"Today, as many as 700 packets of items are offered for sale at a lower price to residents of Pasir Tumboh at discounted prices in line with the government's hope that traders will join forces with us on the Rahmah Sales Programme.

"Each packet consists of items such as cooking oil, sugar, condensed milk, tea, instant noodles, vermicelli noodles and milo, and is sold at a price of RM30 per packet compared to the normal price of RM40,” he said when met at the Rahmah Sales Programme in Pasir Tumboh here today.

According to him, the programme was carried out simultaneously in all districts nationwide from 9am to 12 pm today.

Chicken trader, Ramon Affendi Osman, 43, said he brought 400 chickens that were sold out within an hour.

"Consumers arrived as early as 9am since chickens are sold at a discounted price of RM7 per kilogramme here and I had to limit sales to two chickens per buyer.

"As traders, we also work together to promote the goods to consumers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sakiah Abdullah, 53, from Pasir Tumboh said she took advantage of the Rahmah Sale Programme, which was held near her home, to purchase daily necessities.

"Through this programme, people can buy various items at a cheaper price than on normal days,” she said. - BERNAMA
