IPOH - The Perak state government plans to hold a large-scale final year project exhibition involving the industries and university students next year.

State Communications, Multimedia and NGO Committee chairman Mohd Azlan Helmi said this could indirectly produce new talents from the state.

"The exhibition is in line with the ideas conceived through the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan in emphasising the important elements of digitisation and technological resources for growth," he said at a press conference after officiating at the Startle 2023 Design, Architecture & Technology Festival, themed Reunite here today.

Also present were Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (Usas) Faculty of Management and Information Technology dean Prof Datuk Dr Ahamed Kameel Mydin Meera and Usas Department of Information Technology head Azizi Ahmad.

Earlier, the Usas final year project exhibition was attended by its students with the participation of students from Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Kuala Lumpur and Risda College.

Mohd Azlan said the objective of today’s programme was to let the students have a feel of making a presentation and giving a briefing when participating in a research exhibition in addition to developing their creative and innovative thinking.

He said the programme saw the results of projects which were a collaboration between multimedia computing, landscape architecture and agriculture disciplines.

"The combination of these disciplines will bring a new approach for digital media, user experience, environmental sustainability, and food production," he said. - BERNAMA
