On Saturday, Muhyiddin had said that Khairy would have a meeting with PN leadership to discuss on his next move in politics.
Media reports had earlier reported that Muhyiddin, the Bersatu President had offered a supreme council seat to Khairy.
Last week, the former health minister was seen with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim with other economists to discuss on the country's economic direction.
Khiary was sacked from Umno in January.
