KOTA KINABALU - Yayasan Nur Jauhar chairman Datuk Al Hambra Tun Juhar, and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) deputy president Datuk Richard Yong Ke Wong have been appointed as Sabah Legislative Assembly deputy speakers.

Sabah Chief Minister’s Office in a statement today said Al Hambra and Yong took their oath of office in front of the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah Tun Juhar Mahiruddin after receiving their instruments of appointment in a simple ceremony at Istana Seri Kinabalu here today.

The statement said that both of them also signed their respective appointment document before Kota Kinabalu High Court Judge Datuk Ismail Brahim.

"Al-Hambra and Yong's appointment will be for five years, replacing Datuk Ahmad Abdul Rahman and Datuk George Ginibun,” it said.

Also present were Tun Juhar’s wife Toh Puan Norlidah R.M Jasni, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Sabah Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Kadzim M Yahya and State Secretary Datuk Safar Untong. - BERNAMA
