SHAH ALAM - A Malaysian Tiktoker, Jamii Talib, has gone viral after posting a video of himself getting stuck in a waterslide in the Penang Escape earlier this month.

The video, which has reached nearly 43 million viewers at press time, shows his arms crossed as the water begins to pour, and he starts sliding.

However, Jamii comes to a halt in the middle of the slide and attempts to climb back up.

He frantically screams for help while being stuck in the waterslide.

Fortunately, a vigilant worker at the theme park quickly identified Jamii's predicament and came to his aid.

Responding to the incident, Escape Penang CEO Philip Whittaker apologised through an Instagram video posted on the @escapemy account.

"Firstly, I would like to apologise to Jamii Talib for the unpleasant experience he had at the Super Looper slide at the Escape Penang.

"This can happen from time to time when the fabric and the weight of the rider may not give proper momentum. This is not unusual; in fact, the same ride is available all around the world.

"I would like to assure the public that this is not a safety issue. In fact, the ride is designed with an opening to ensure that in instances like these, our guests can be removed from the slide in quick time," he said in a statement.

Whittaker also extended an invitation to Jamii to return to Escape Penang and enjoy the ride in the intended manner, along with other games and activities available at the park.
