SHAH ALAM - There is no statement by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari that Pakatan Harapan (PH) will work with the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) to face the state election in Selangor.

Amirudin's press secretary Jay Jay Denis said Amirudin had instead stated PKR's stance that it considered Muda as a partner following the parties' cooperation in the 15th General Election (GE15).

"When asked by reporters whether PH will negotiate with Muda in the upcoming state election, Amirudin replied that it will be determined by PH with the understanding that PH and Muda are colleagues.

"Amirudin said this is PKR's stance but the matter should be decided by the PH presidential council.

"He is not sure of the negotiations status because he is not a member of the PH presidential council," he said, today.

He was commenting on the statement by Muda information chief Luqman Long who criticised Amirudin's statement regarding the cooperation between PH and Muda for the Selangor state election.

Luqman said until today there has been no negotiations between Muda and PH regarding strategic cooperation or the number of seats including the contested areas.

Jay Jay said the statement issued was slanderous and needed to be corrected.
