SHAH ALAM - A prominent Umno veteran has called on Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) to finalise the allocation of seats for the upcoming state election.

Its secretary Datuk Mustapha Yaakub has stressed that time was running out for the two parties and urged them to commence planning strategies to secure victory.

"Don't fight over the number of seats, and the most important thing is to win. We are fighting for victory against Perikatan Nasional (PN), so the win-win formula needs to be prioritised, let the party have few seats but guaranteed to win.

"Both parties, namely BN and PH have to help each other to win, whereas BN voters need to vote for PH candidates and PH voters need to vote for BN candidates," he said in a statement today.

He added that BN and PH state's leadership must put aside their old disputes because they are now working together.

"We are friends now. Friends help each other out. Don't backstab your friend.

"We are no longer opponents and enemies. We need to accept this fact if we want to win in the state polls," he said.
