Woman suffering gastritis while hiking rescued

SHAH ALAM - A 27-year-old woman suffered gastritis while she was hiking Bukit Botak Bandar Puncak Alam here on Saturday.

Selangor Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations assistant director Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said the incident occurred while the victim and her 50-year-old uncle were hiking at the hill.

He said firemen received the emergency call at 9.09am and six personnel from the Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the scene.

“The victim suffered a stomachache 20 minutes into the hike, complaining she could not walk,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Ehsan said the victim was brought down by the firemen using a stretcher.

“The firemen took 20 minutes to bring the victim down to the fire control centre,” he said.
