'Inspector Sheila' served with suspension order

KUALA LUMPUR - The police have served the infamous 'Inspector Sheila' with a suspension order.

Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Department director Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad said that the suspension was issued in accordance with Section 78 of the Police Act 1967.

"The provision under the police Act states any power, rights, and privileges as an officer have been revoked until the matter is decided by the police disciplinary board," he said.

On Monday, the 35-year-old inspector, whose full name is S.K. Sheila Sharon, was slapped with three criminal charges, two under Section 509 of the Penal Code and one under Section 506 of the Penal Code, at the Selayang Magistrate's Court.

She was charged with three counts of threatening and insulting a police officer with the rank of lance corporal and two civilians.

However, the 35-year-old pleaded not guilty to all three charges, which were read before Magistrates Nur Hafizah Rajuni and Chai Guan Hock.
