SHAH ALAM - Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) invites haj pilgrims, future pilgrims and alumni to join the #QuranHour Road to Arafah programme online on the World Quran Hour and Sinar Islam Plus digital platforms at 9am daily starting June 15.

WUIF chief executive officer Marhaini Yusoff said the #QuranHour Road to Arafah, a knowledge-quenching programme was the eighth #QuranHour series which will be held at the plains of Arafah, Makkah on 9 Zulhijjah 1444H on June 27, 2023.

"This year, the programme involves interacting with the Quran through recitation, understanding and implementation with the theme 'syukur membina takwa' based on Surah Al-Insan and Surah Al-Hajj.

The #QuranHour Arafah was held in conjunction with the largest Muslim gathering in Mount Arafat.

"In 2016, WUIF sent a representative to implement the Arafah #QuranHour in collaboration with Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) and the Religious Affairs Ministry. The following year, the organisers collaborated with several haj operators to hold the programme there," she said.

Marhaini said this year, WUIF held the Quran interactive programme on the day of Arafah with the support of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar and TH.

She said 30 countries that have participated in the World #QuranHour 1444H would implement the programme in their tents in their respective countries.

Members from the Sahabah al-Quran have also put in their efforts to build a network abroad to mobilise a campaign towards interacting with the Quran, she added.

“Haj education is extraordinary. On the day of Arafah, Surah Al-Insan provides a reminder which is to ‘Humanise the Ummah’ and a momentum to rebuild the frame of mind and system of self-operation among pilgrims worldwide.

"We all want to achieve haj mabrur. Therefore, #QuranHour Road to Arafah provides knowledge sharing to potential haj pilgrims and alumni as a mental and spiritual preparation so that they aspire to become better people," she said.

Marhaini added that Surah Al-Insan has 11 al-Abrar characters which were trustworthy, taqwa (fear of Allah’s punishment), infaq (giving food), sincerity, akhirah oriented (believe in the hereafter), firm, sabr (patience), self-control, obedience, growth, and syukr (praise to Allah).

"By cultivating these characteristics in this year's haj education, we hope that pilgrims and alumni would become agents of change in the country,” she said.

She said pilgrims, future pilgrims and alumni were welcomed along with TH or private agencies (individually or in groups) to join the Arafah #QuranHour programme by registering at https://bit.ly/HOTSPOTAQH.
