SHAH ALAM - UiTM has achieved a significant milestone by climbing 102 spots in the QS World University Rankings 2024, reaching 555th, surpassing last year's ranking.

This year, the rankings evaluated 2,963 institutions in 104 locations worldwide, with over 500 new institutions included compared to the previous year's 2,462.

UiTM's remarkable jump places it among the top 37 per cent of the 1,503 institutions worldwide featured in this year's rankings.

"The QS World University Rankings measures university performance based on nine indicators, including academic reputation, citations per faculty, employer reputation, employment outcomes, faculty-student ratio, international faculty, international research network, international students, and sustainability.

"Among these indicators, employer reputation remains UiTM's strongest indicator as it jumped 11 places to reach the 184th position globally compared to its previous position of 195," it said in a statement today.

According to the statement, UiTM also improved its position for the fourth consecutive year in terms of academic reputation, climbing 14 places to secure the 303rd position compared to the 317th position last year.

UiTM mentioned that it has achieved a two-spot improvement from the previous year to secure the tenth-best position in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, UiTM's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr Roziah Mohd Janor, said that this year marks UiTM's best achievement since joining the QS World University Rankings.
