Explore the meaning of Surah al-Insaan, al-Hajj through Arafah #QuranHourAISYAH BASARUDDIN
SHAH ALAM - With the theme ‘Syukur Membina Takwa’, the Arafah #QuranHour 1444H/2023 movement which builds a value system through the Quran and sunnah with solidarity starts from Arafah to the rest of the world.
The two main surahs which were surah al-Insaan and surah al-Hajj contained several lessons as well as messages to invite people to prostrate and be grateful to Allah SWT.
Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) lecturer associate professor Dr Ahmad Sanusi Azmi who was chosen as the ‘pentadabbur’ (a person who contemplates on the Quran) said the gathering on the day of Arafah was a session that served as a reminder for people to return to Allah SWT like it was a rehearsal for the gathering at the field of Mahsyar.
He said the first five verses of the surahs educated people to be grateful and to avoid elements of disbeliefs besides striving to fulfill the characteristics of al-Abrar to achieve haj mabrur.
The Arafah #QuranHour programme was attended by Karangkraf Group advisor Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub, pentadabbur, Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) chief research officer Fazrul Ismail, qari (Quran reciter) Fariz Hadi Taufik, 2023 Selangor Quran Recital Ceremony runner up Syeikh Rami As-Sousi from Palestine and Lutfil Hadi as the programme’s host.
Fazrul said the content from Surah al-Insaan emphasised on gratitude and kufur (lacking faith) as two paths were given to human beings to choose which was either to be in the group of the righteous or kufur to Allah SWT.
“Human beings must put in their effort to be closer to god, ask for forgiveness from the sins committed and become a person who works hard towards the Allah’s path,” he said during the programme which was aired live, today.
