Kedah police open Investigation papers against Sheikh Zainul Asri

ALOR SETAR - The Kedah Police have received 12 reports related to the statement made by Sheikh Muhd ​​Zainul Asri Mohd Romli during an event organised by the Kedah state government on June 24th.

Kedah Chief Police Datuk Fisol Salleh said the former deputy head of the Kedah Pas Ulama Council was also summoned and his statement taken yesterday (Tuesday).

"We have opened an investigation under section 505 (c) of the Penal Code, which is issuing a statement with the intention of inciting hatred toward any group or race and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

"This investigation has beentaken over by the Bukit Aman Crime Investigation department ," he said.

He said this at a press conference at the Kedah Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK), on Wednesday.

Previously, Pakatan Harapan (PH) filed a police report against a Kedah Pas leader who allegedly made inflammatory statements regarding the 'enemy of Allah' issue while speaking at a program held at the Darul Aman Stadium which was attended by thousands.
