SHAH ALAM - Police have confirmed the arrest of an American man at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Friday.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that the man was arrested on suspicion of possessing three bullet casings.

"Yes, he was arrested, and an investigation has been carried out under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1960. The suspect was granted bail but was not allowed to leave the country until the investigation was completed and the case was referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor," he said when contacted on Saturday.

Hussein said that the man entered the country for filming purposes using military camp facilities.

"However, he was detained at KLIA after the filming. The inspection found that there were three bullet casings brought without permission," he explained.

On Saturday, a news portal reported that a woman claimed that her husband, who wanted to return to his home country, was detained by the authorities at KLIA.

He claimed that the 43-year-old man was carrying empty bullets after being used in the filming of a documentary in this country.

In fact, it was also reported that several videos uploaded by the man were investigated by the authorities.
