SHAH ALAM - DAP is accused of wanting to transform Malaysia into a multi-racial secular nation.

According to Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had to follow DAP's manifesto so that the party would not withdraw from the current government.

"Yes. DAP only has four ministers (in the Cabinet), but there are DAP members in the government. If DAP withdraws, Anwar's government will fall.

"That's why Anwar has to follow DAP's manifesto especially in turning this nation into a multi-racial country with no official religion, just a secular nation.

"(If that were to happen) Malaysia's membership in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) would be annuled," he said in a tweet on Tuesday.

Dr Mahathir also questioned the government's claim that Malaysia is a democratic country that practiced freedom of speech.

Therefore, he questioned whether his move to defend the provisions in the Malaysian Constitution was against the law.

"On the other hand, it is against the Constitution to promote a multi-ethnic country.

Meanwhile in previous reports, the Bukit Gelugor Umno information chief Mohd Huzaidi Mohd Hussin had reminded the former prime minister to stop playing with racist sentiments.
