Young girl plunges to death from 10th floor of apartment
LABUAN - A young girl fell to her death from the 10th floor of Ganggarak Permai apartment here, on Tuesday.
In the 5.20am incident, the victim was discovered on the first floor of the building.
Labuan district police chief Superintendent Ahmad Jawila said preliminary investigations revealed that the local child resided on the 10th floor and fell from a fenced area near the apartment elevators.
"Medical personnel arrived at the scene at approximately 7:42am and pronounced the victim dead," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
The victim was then taken to Labuan Hospital, where the forensic unit conducted an autopsy.
"There is no indication of any foul play, and the case has been classified as a sudden death.
"The police appeal to the public who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and provide information at any nearby police stations or contact Labuan district police headquarters at 087-412222," he added.
