PASIR MAS - The one-on-one competition in the Aug 12 state polls would give way for BN-Pakatan Harapan (PH) to increase the number of seats in the Kelantan State Assembly.

Amanah Nasional Leadership Committee member Datuk Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah said the confidence was based on the total votes that could be added by both parties in the previous general election (GE).

"After having a three-cornered fight in the previous GE, this state election is one-on-one with Pas, opening space for us (BN-PH) to gain additional seats.

"This is also going to be tough competition for the opposition," he said during the press conference on Wednesday.

Wan Abdul Rahim was earlier met at the Kenaf Talk Programme in Kampung Slow Machang here.

He added that the solid cooperation between BN and PH now adds to the coalition's strength to give a surprising result in the elections.

He said PH machinery is now rendering support to BN candidates contesting 31 state seats, as agreed.

Wan Abdul Rahim said BN also agreed to give their support for PH candidates contesting the 14 state seats in the state elections.
