KUALA TERENGGANU - Pas will be careful throughout the state election campaigning period to ensure actions taken do not violate rules set by the Election Commission (EC).

Its deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, said this follows several cases involving Parliaments contested by Pas candidates in Terengganu in the 15th general election (GE15) in November last year.

He said the Terengganu Pas would continue to campaign in the state elections on the principles of political culture in a mature and prosperous manner.

"I think is in in our agenda to be more careful (throughout the election campaign period).

"We agreed not to carry out anything against the election rules," he told reporters after launching the Terengganu State Government's performance report card and success book at Wisma Darul Iman here on Wednesday.

Samsuri, who is Terengganu caretaker Menteri Besar said the state government had no programmes involving the distribution of money to the people throughout August.

"To my knowledge, there are no aid programmes in the election season, only programmes for Awal Muharram," he said.

On June 27, the Terengganu Election Court annulled the victory of Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim, who was the Pas candidate for Kuala Terengganu Parliament in GE15, following a petition filed by BN on Jan 3.
