State polls: Two weeks campaign period adequate - Gerakan

GEORGE TOWN - Gerakan believes the two-week campaign period for the upcoming state polls is adequate for all parties.
Its deputy president Oh Tong Keong said Gerakan is also satisfied with all the important dates set by the Election Commission (EC) for the polls.
"Previously, we targeted Aug 5 or Aug 12 for the state polls to take place. Two weeks is good enough for all of us to campaign. We will campaign by having talks (ceramah), walkabouts and we will also campaign via social media like TikTok, Facebook and WhatsApp," he told Bernama when contacted here today.
He said Gerakan, a member party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition, is well prepared for the polls.
Earlier, EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh announced that polling day for six states namely, Penang, Kedah, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan and Terengganu will be on Aug 12, with nominations on July 27 and early voting on Aug 8.
The Penang legislative assembly, which has a total of 40 seats, was dissolved on June 28. - Bernama
