BACHOK - Former Bachok Member of Parliament Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz insisted that there was no attempt to erase the legacy of Tan Sri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat or Tok Guru after it was reported that his name was not nominated for the state polls on Aug 12.

Nik Abduh said that being an election candidate is not part of Tok Guru's legacy.

"Tok Guru's true legacy is defending the cause of Islam and the government of Kelantan.

"This needs to be understood clearly. If my name is not put forth as a candidate, it is not an attempt to erase Tok Guru's legacy," he said during a press conference on Wednesday night.

Nik Abduk was attending the Bachok Parliament Pakat Pertahan campaign event.

The media previously reported that Nik Abduh did not receive any proposal from Pas or any political party to run in the state elections.

The son of the former Kelantan Menteri Besar said that there is no need for him to contest in the state polls as the incumbent people's representatives have already shown a commandable performance.
