KUALA SELANGOR - School teachers appointed as officials of the Election Commission (EC) are fully prepared for the upcoming state elections on Aug 12, according to Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

The ministry has completed all necessary preparations in collaboration with the EC.

"The appointment of teachers as EC officials is a regular process that takes place during each election.

"We have worked closely with the EC to address all requirements, including the selection of schools and the number of teachers involved in the voting process," she said after attending the inauguration of the Siddiq Fadzil Memorial Library at Universiti Selangor (Unisel) Bestari Jaya.

The Education Ministry will determine the number of schools designated as polling centers, which will be fewer compared to the previous 15th General Election (GE15) held last year.

Despite involving six states, all schools are fully prepared to serve as polling stations for the state polls.

Fadhlina highlighted that the EC provided comprehensive briefings to all teachers, both from primary and secondary schools.

Previously, the Education Ministry confirmed the readiness of all schools in the six states to serve as polling centers for the state polls.
