SHAH ALAM - Putrajaya Former Umno Deputy Chief, Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz has confirmed that he has joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) effective today.

Tun Faisal stated that his membership was approved on Friday (7 July) and that he will receive his membership pledge at the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Negeri Sembilan state election machinery launch in Seremban tonight.

"In fact, I made the decision to join Bersatu two weeks ago, for me, by joining this party, I can play a more significant role.

"I chose Bersatu over Pas because there are not many differences in terms of struggle and objectives.

"Both are part of Perikatan Nasional," he said when contacted on Saturday.

On January 31, Sinar reported that Tun Faisal announced he was sacked from Umno after being suspended for almost two years.

Furthermore, he stated that his involvement indirectly helps with direct management.

"As we know, the Member of Parliament for Putrajaya is Datuk Dr. Mohd Radzi Md Jidin, so I feel that he needs the assistance of a local person who has been in that area for a long time.
