SEREMBAN - Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin believes that the unity government led by Datuk Sri Anwar Ibrahim is currently awaiting the right moment for its downfall.

Muhyiddin, the president of Bersatu said the marriage between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) is currently in a "mess" and face challenges.

“Since when is Umno the same as DAP? From then to now, if you mention Umno with DAP, no way... no go.

“This has already happened... There has been political chaos in PH and political chaos in BN. If the party that supports the central government is like this, it appears to be united, but in reality, it is no longer united, just wait for time and it will fall apart, fall.

“We are talking about a serious situation. A situation that is quite bad and heavy enough. That’s why everyday (everytime) we see Anwar open his mouth, stocks fall, the ringgit falls, everything falls. It’s not just a matter of falling, people don’t believe. This is important,” Muhyiddin said.

The former prime minister said this at the launch of PN election machinery in Negeri Sembilan.

Also present were Pas vice president Datuk Idris Ahmad, Pas secretary general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and Negeri Sembilan PN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

Commenting further, Muhyiddin also claimed that the current government is seen as incapable of bringing stability to the people.

He further said state elections in the six states next month would be a benchmark of people’s referendum on whether they want to maintain the existing government or return the mandate to PN.

He said he is confident that the people’s “voting power” on Aug 12 in the six states will bring a clear message to the current coalition government of PH and BN. - AWANI
