SHAH ALAM: A teacher is alleged to have bitten a student's lip and pulled it with his teeth.

In multiple Facebook postings, the six-year-old boy's mother, Eyma Zaideen, from Kelantan, brought the issue to the attention of social media users on Sunday.

Eyma said she has been noticing her son being unhappy every Sunday night before school.

"My son would ask me when the next holiday was, and whenever he came home, he didn’t look happy.

"This has been going on for sometime, and as a mother, I knew something was amiss.

"Then one day, I asked him when he had just returned from school, and he said that he wanted to change schools and when asked why he wanted to do this, he said his teacher enjoys biting his lip and pulling it with his teeth," she said in a post.

Her son had also said that the teacher had 'yellow teeth' and that his lips were dark.

He added that sometimes the teachers also bites his ears and nose.

Eyma's two children, who go to the same school, also admitted that there is a teacher who enjoys doing this to students.

Feeling utterly dismayed, she was also enraged that other teachers in the same school knew that the incident had been ongoing but didn't do anything.

"Even worse, some teachers even laugh at students who cry after allegedly being bitten by the teacher.

"You are a vampire, not a teacher. Other parents may be quiet about it; I will not," she said.

Eyma said that she immediately went to the school and spoke to the headmaster, who assured her that the matter would be taken seriously.

"The headmaster is not taking sides, and he will be taking action against the teacher based on procedures and protocols."

It was reported on Monday that the Education Mnistry is conducting a detailed investigation into the incident in which students were left traumatised and emotionally distraught after allegedly being bitten by a male teacher at a school in Kelantan, which went viral on social media.

Its deputy minister Lim Hui Ying said the ministry takes the allegations seriously and will take appropriate action if the incident proved to be true.
