Fahmi Fadzil instructs JKOM to review content
BANGI - Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil has instructed the Community Communications Department (JKOM) to review all content before it is published.
The minister added that he will have internal discussions with the department’s director-general Datuk Mohammad Agus Yusoff to better coordinate other government information that will be released in future to the public.
Fahmi said that he has spoken with JKOM and they have agreed to improve their coordination with the relevant ministries.
He also said that he will hold an internal discussion with JKOM to discuss how they can improve their operations.
"The director of JKOM has given his word that this will be much better coordinated in future," Fahmi told reporters after launching the Global Conference on Communication, Culture and Contemporary Media (GLOCOM) 2023 here today.
Yesterday, J-Kom released an infographic explaining that a family of four can survive on less than RM400 worth of groceries per month, and a single person would spend just over RM200 per month.
However, it has since been amended following brickbats from netizens, with a majority of them lambasting J-Kom for posting such an “illogical” infographic.
