SHAH ALAM - Umno Shah Alam Division is confident that all the State Legislative Assembly seats contested by Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) in Selangor can be won in the upcoming state elections.

Division chief Datuk Azhari Shaari said that the victory would, to some extent, help Pakatan Harapan (PH) to maintain the state government.

"It will also serve as a benchmark heading towards the 16th General Election (GE16) and the victory of Umno-BN in all the contested seats will be a very positive indication for Umno's resurgence and rebuilding in preparation for GE16.

"This matter is crucial, even though Umno has not contested many seats in the State Legislative Assembly.

"However, the results of our work demonstrate that the party remains strong.

"I pray that all Umno-BN seats contested in Selangor win and remain under the Unity Government, contributing to the establishment of a stable state government for the ease of implementing agendas and stability for the people," he said as reported by Umno Online on Friday.

Azhari added that Umno Shah Alam Division had held a meeting with PH, and this collaboration provides advantages to both parties.

"We have already had meetings with PH, and we see that we need each other.

"On paper, it provides advantages, and based on the score sheet, both parties have no issues and give an advantage to the party in maintaining victory.

"We have moved forward together as a team, especially in terms of candidates.

"Umno Shah Alam accepts the party's decision that both State Legislative Assembly seats, namely Kota Anggerik and Batu Tiga remain under PH and their candidates," he said.

He added that the responsibility of Umno Shah Alam is to ensure that both State Legislative Assembly seats in the Shah Alam parliamentary constituency are retained and contribute to the formation of the state government.
