SEREMBAN - Negeri Sembilan Amanah will remain contesting in three seats it won in the 14th General Election (GE14) in the upcoming state polls.

Its chairman Datuk MK Ibrahim Abd Rahman said the decision was made during the Amanah leadership committee meeting.

"Amanah will contest in three state seats representing the Negeri Sembilan unity government which is based on the incumbency factor for winning the seats in GE14.

"The three seats are Klawang (N04), Lenggeng (N09) and Paroi (N25)," he said in a statement, today.

He said there were no discussion or decision to hand over the Lenggeng state assembly to Barisan Nasional (BN) as what was circulated on social media, recently.

He said overall, Amanah has been a successful political partner in ensuring that the Pakatan Harapan-led state government's agenda was successfully implemented.

"In preparation for the polls, Negeri Sembilan Amanah has launched the election machinery on July 12. It was launched by the party's president (Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu).

"Accordingly, Amanah will submit the names of the candidates for the three seats soon," he said.

He said the candidates the party would field were qualified, full of integrity and committed to fight for the interests of the people.

MK Ibrahim said the party called on all its members and PH supporters in Negeri Sembilan to prepare to face the election with a strong momentum to ensure the continuity of the unity government in Negeri Sembilan.

"At the same time, (it is also) to continue the excellent legacy of Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun in developing Negeri Sembilan for the next five years," he said.
