69 per cent satisfied with Anwar's performance

SHAH ALAM - A total of 69 per cent of 1,068 respondents, consisting of registered Malay voters in Selangor have expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the Prime Minister.

The survey conducted by Endeavour-MGC from June 12 to June 18 found that an additional 30 per cent of respondents disagreed, while one per cent had no opinion.

The study also revealed that 68 per cent of respondents were satisfied with the overall performance of the unity government, while 31 per cent were dissatisfied and one per cent responded that they did not know.

The survey was conducted through stratified random sampling in 56 State Legislative Assemblies, with a breakdown of 50 per cent male respondents and 50 per cent female respondents.

A total of 45 per cent of the respondents were from the B40 group with an income of RM4,850 or less, while 40 per cent were from the M40 group with incomes ranging from RM4,850 to RM10,959, and 15 per cent were from the T20 group with incomes of RM10,959 and above.

Anwar was appointed as the 10th Prime Minister in November, last year, after forming the unity government with Barisan Nasional (BN) following the 15th General Election (GE15).

Meanwhile, 71 per cent of respondents expressed satisfaction with the performance of the leaders of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

A total of 28 per cent of respondents disagreed, while one per cent were neutral about the matter.

Additionally, 68 per cent were reported to be satisfied with the overall performance of the Selangor state government led by PH, while 31 per cent of respondents expressed dissatisfaction and one per cent were neutral.

For the record, PH has been governing Selangor since 2008 after successfully overthrowing Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 12th General Election (GE12).

Amirudin was appointed as the Selangor Menteri Besar in June 2018.
