ALOR SETAR – Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor says he had sent a letter to the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to explain the context of his speech he claimed had been twisted.

He said the Selangor Palace officer informed him that the Sultan of Selangor had consented to receive and read the letter, yesterday.

Sanusi said that he had sought for forgiveness and hoped that the Selangor Sultan was not angered by the issues deliberately raised in the speech.

"I also pray that His Majesty Tuanku Sultan and Her Majesty Tuanku Permaisuri continue to be on the throne of Selangor Darul Ehsan in a state of health, happiness and full of glory," he said in an explanation uploaded on his Facebook today.

However, he said he could not display the letter on the social media to preserve the glory of the Sultan of Selangor and the customary of dealing with the palace.

At the same time, Sanusi said he also gave evidence to the investigating officer from Bukit Aman at 2am yesterday to complete the investigation on the reports lodged against him.

In his speech that went viral earlier, the Central Pas election director was said to have touched on the Sultan of Selangor’s decision on the appointment of the state Menteri Besar.

Following that, various parties lodged police reports due to the speech deemed insulting to the royal institution in Selangor.
