How is PSM leftist when they have been advocating for workers' rights for years, says Syed Saddiq

SHAH ALAM - Muda President Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman does not consider Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) to be a leftist party as its history is filled with advocating for the people, particularly workers' rights.

He said they have been doing so for years.

He further said the party has consistently raised important issues such as advocating for a minimum wage of RM1,500, pushing for a workers' insurance scheme, defending the rights of cleaning and security workers, and addressing the issue of land confiscation."

"Let's be fair to them, even though they lost the election but they still continue to serve politics. I admire their action.

"Even Muda is not perfect. We have a lot to learn from each other. Give us a chance to be your voice," he said in a tweet, today.

Previously, the media reported that Muda will work with PSM to face state elections based on five main pillars, including rejecting racial politics and uplifting the plight of the majority and marginalised people.

Syed Saddiq said they want to hold to the principles enshrined in the Rukun Negara and the Federal Constitution to go through the state elections.
