KUALA LUMPUR - Top cop Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the case involving caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is seen differently as it involves the royal institutions, including the King and Sultan of Selangor.

He said this is different than Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng who was called in for 3R issue (religion, royalty, and race).

"Generally, the case involving Guan Eng and Sanusi are similar as they are related to the 3R issue but we need to look at it holistically.

"The Sanusi case involves the Agong and also the Sultan of Selangor and the dissatisfaction was raised among the Selangor Assembly members and the lodge police report over the matter," he told the media during a press conference at Bukit Aman today.

Razarudin expressed concern as the Sanusi case could breed hatred and disloyalty towards the royal institutions.

"If such statements are allowed, they will generate sentiments of disrespect towards the royals," he said.

Earlier today, Sanusi pleaded not guilty in two Sessions Courts here on charges of sedition related to linking the appointment of the Selangor Menteri Besar and the formation of the unity government in a speech he delivered last week.

Sanusi, 49, made this plea after the charges were read before Judges Nor Rajiah Mat Zin and Osman Affendi Mohd Shalleh.
