KUALA LUMPUR - Muslims must master various fields of knowledge in order to be successful in life, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

He said that in the face of the rapid evolution of information technology, Muslims should exercise wisdom and make the most of it to carry out good deeds rather than and engage in activities that could cause disunity such as setting people against one another and spreading slander.

"Therefore, the spirit of migration should encourage Muslims to unite to build a strong identity,” he said in his speech at the national-level Maal Hijrah Celebration 1445/2023 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur here today.

Na’im said that with perseverance, tenacity and sacrifice, Muslims can make a significant contribution to ensuring the success of the Malaysia MADANI agenda.

He said that the people should learn from the Prophet Muhammad SAW’s migration that the strong bond between members of the Ummah is what underlies their unity.

"Although the migration of Prophet Muhammad no longer takes place in modern times, the concept of migration is still applicable to everyday life.

"Therefore, Muslims are called upon to make changes in order to excel in this world and the hereafter,” he said.

Na’im also urged Malaysians to "migrate” in order to become the best members of society while avoiding prejudices that fuel enmity and hatred. - BERNAMA
