SHAH ALAM - Pas strongly condemns the actions of a Facebook user named "Ismadi Ayob" for allegedly defaming Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah in a post and misusing the image of Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Pas vice-president Datuk Idris Ahmad has slammed the individual for creating a false identity and posing as a supporter of caretaker Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, who was recently charged under the Sedition Act 1948.

Idris Ahmad stressed that the message was false and accused the responsible party of attempting to tarnish the image of Pas and PN.

"Engage in a constructive argument, not in slander. Do not sustain your family with money earned through such means.

"The work you and your colleagues are engaged in is the most despicable in the world.

"We may have our flaws as humans, but criticise us based on facts, not lies," he stated in a Facebook post today.

In a related matter, he urged supporters of Pas and PN to monitor and report suspected social media users with fake accounts who seek to discredit the party to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

He highlighted that numerous fake accounts claim to be members or supporters of Pas, but are actually cyber troopers who profit from posting defamatory statements on social media.

"With the upcoming state elections, we can expect more fake accounts on social media. Let us not forget to pray to Allah for appropriate retribution against such malicious behavior," he added.
