SHAH ALAM - Former Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin says the issue of caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor who was charged with two counts of sedition is currently the biggest threat to Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the upcoming state polls in Kedah.

On Monday, Sanusi, who is also Perikatan Nasional (PN) election director, pleaded not guilty to the charges at the Selayang Sessions Court for uttering seditious remarks which could incite disloyalty to any Ruler or government.

Khairy, in the 'Keluar Sekejap' Podcast programme was commenting on a statement made by Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh yesterday claiming that DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng had deliberately raised an issue which touched on the 3R (religion, race, and royal institution).

In a Facebook post, Dr Akmal said action must be taken against anyone, regardless of which party, whether in the government or opposition if they ever touched on 3R issues.

"If it is true, we will hand it over to the court. Sanusi (in his political talk) touched on one of the 3Rs, which was on the royal institution and not to forget, Lim had touched on race and religion.

"We want to see action taken and what charges the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) will bring. I think this is fair. If it has reached the stage where Sanusi was hauled to court, it is serious.

"In the state election, this is a threat to Sanusi from PH. I think we can agree," Khairy claimed.

He also claimed that the decision to haul Sanusi to court has its political implications.
