ALOR SETAR - PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has claimed that caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor is experiencing sleepless nights due to a series of revelations made by the Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Rafizi said that the previously suppressed matters have now surfaced during political speeches.

"Nowadays, I believe Sanusi can hardly sleep at night. He can talk big in front of the people, but I know he is restless at night because, from the political ceramah, all the things that were previously suppressed are starting to surface one by one," he said in a ceramah during the Jelajah Madani Suka Menanti yesterday.

Rafizi also pointed out that Saifuddin would only make revelations with substantial evidence.

"I want to tell Sanusi that if we don't have enough information to sustain us for two weeks, it means we don't have enough facts, and we won't make any revelations.

"If we start revealing, and saudara Saifuddin throws one revelation, wait for your response, it means he knows you can't respond because he has ten more.

"So I ask Saifuddin to provide more revelations within the next two weeks. We want to see how great the 'Hero Malaya' from Pas is," he added.

On a separate matter, Rafizi stated that when they took over the Federal Government, the Unity Government was informed from time to time about the illegal smuggling of rare earth elements (REE).

"Therefore, REE has become a national issue because we know that it is not only important in terms of economic value, but it also holds strategic geopolitical value as controlling the country that possesses REE means having significant influence in the world. It's crucial to safeguard the country," he said.

He further explained that blocking the smuggling of REE was essential for other countries that relied on these elements for various technological and electronic applications.

He pointed out that Kedah was among the significant sources which contributed to the illegal smuggling of REE.

Rafizi called on Saifuddin to take the issue of REE seriously and prevent further illicit activities.

"He knows the names of individuals, regardless of their passports, he knows them all.

"It's not because he wants to accuse Sanusi. It's not because he wants to find faults with Pas. It's a matter concerning the nation," he added.
