KOTA BHARU - Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has called upon the voters to give Perikatan Nasional (PN) victory in the state elections next month.

"We will have the state polls, six states will have elections. I hope to sweep it all clean.

"We are all Malays, many say the Malays are divided and cannot unite but tonight we can see the leaders of the Malay parties gathered here because they want to fight for the fate and future of the country," he spoke to the crowd.

Dr Mahathir was delivering a speech to tens of thousands of people at the Munajat Rakyat Kelantan programme at Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV on Friday night.

It was the grand statesman’s first appearance on the PN stage.

Also present were PN Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang as well as other PN leaders from both central and state levels.

Dr Mahathir said it was not easy for the Malays to simply handover the administration to others because they also have the ability to administer.

He urged everyone to come out en masse to vote in order to defeat their opposing candidates in the upcoming state elections.
