HULU LANGAT - Strict actions must be taken towards the Good Vibes Festival 2023 organisers following the rude behaviour of international music band The 1975

Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said the rude and drunken actions of the group while performing was insensitive and disrespectful towards Malaysians.

“This (issue) is under the authority of the Communications and Digital Ministry and I understand that its minister Fahmi Fadzil has contacted the organisers, what the band did goes against our culture and faith

“As the religious affairs minister I agree with it and hope stricter actions would be taken towards the organisers. This incident would become a lesson to other organisers interested in inviting other foreign entertainers to be more aware of Malaysian sensitivities," he said after attending the Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia Foundation (Yadim) Inauguration of the Daie Muda Academics as well as the Construction of the New Dakwah Yadim Training Institute Groundbreaking Ceremony in Sungai Semungkis, here.

Na’im said all parties especially organisers must obey the guidelines and rules set before officially inviting any overseas group or entertainers.

“We have guidelines including input from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) who are involved in giving their views.

“I hope organisers intending to invite foreign groups or singers obey the guidelines and rules set,” he said.
