Town Hall Rakyat with hottest MB candidate in town

SHAH ALAM - If the previous five editions of Sinar Harian’s Town Hall Rakyat featured Cabinet ministers, this time, it is featuring Selangor Menteri Besar candidate Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
Sinar Harian editor-in-chief Zamri Rambli said the town hall that will take place tomorrow (Monday) will be different in conjunction with the upcoming state polls.
"In conjunction with the state elections, we are making a difference by featuring the hottest Menteri Besar candidate in the market. Selangor is considered as a state with the most fierce competition and all eyes will be on him (Amirudin).
“Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had announced that Amirudin will be defending the Sungai Tua state seat and if PH wins in Selangor, he will once again be appointed as Menteri Besar,”Zamri said, today.
He said although several surveys conducted by research firms found that PH and Amirudin have an advantage and the support of Malay voters, some also expected that Perikatan Nasional (PN) will bring a fierce competition.
Because of that, he said that Town Hall Rakyat will for the first time provide a platform to candidates in the state elections.
"Sinar Harian truly hopes that the people of Selangor will come down to the Karangkraf Complex in Shah Alam to be with the PH's Selangor Menteri Besar candidate.
"With a different concept from the state elections campaign stage, Town Hall gives people the opportunity to raise questions related to the issues and problems they are facing to be answered by the caretaker Menteri Besar," he said.
The previous Town Hall Rakyat featured Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, Transport Minister Anthony Loke and Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Apart from that, it had also featured Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub and Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.
The Town Hall Rakyat will be hosted by popular actor Azhar Sulaiman. The programme could also be aired live on Sinar Harian’s website at www.sinarharian.com.my and on Sinar Harian's social media platforms.
