Covid-19 pandemic proves educators work together to manage challenges

KOTA BHARU - The Covid-19 pandemic which took place three years ago proved that educators in the country are able to work together to manage all the challenges in education.

Education director-general Datuk Pkharuddin Ghazali said all educators were capable of overcoming obstacles including those outside the education system.

He was also confident that the educators' principle of togetherness and openness could bring about progress of education in the country.

"We already have the value of trust and inspiration between one other. That is what we will keep doing," he said at the Cakna Madani programme with the Prime Minister, today.

Also present were Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and her deputy Lim Hui Ying.

Pkharuddin said in line with the ministry's vision that wanted a world-class education system, the way all educators operated needed to be focused towards leadership that 'believes and inspires'.

Apart from that, he said the Education Ministry was always trying to implement improvements in the country's education system especially digital education.

"Digitalisation is no longer an option, but a necessity and we need to look at the best approach to ensure that educational pedagogy can be improved," he said.

He also emphasised on a stable and harmonious atmosphere for students so that they could enjoy and have confidence in learning.

A total of 1,500 educators attended the event which also involved a question and answer session with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
